Matsuda Yuriko 松田 百合子
Yuriko is an exceptionally active exhibitor, showing extensively both within Japan—at major venues such as the Nihon Togei Ten and Gendai Togei Ten—and internationally across numerous countries. Her accomplishments include receiving the prestigious Yagi Kazuo Prize in 1986, among many other awards.
Her work and career are well documented in key publications on contemporary Japanese ceramics, including Contemporary Japanese Ceramics, Fired with Passion by Beatrice Chang and Samuel Lurie, Contemporary Clay: Japanese Ceramics for the New Century (Museum of Fine Arts, Boston), and Soaring Voices: Contemporary Japanese Women Ceramic Artists (2010).
