"Kwaidan – Encounters with Lafcadio Hearn"

"Kwaidan – Encounters with Lafcadio Hearn"

Kwaidan, by Patrick Lafcadio Hearn (1850-1904), was first published in 1904. This exhibition features the works of 40 artists based in Ireland and Japan who have been inspired by these strange and ghostly tales. Their interpretations are presented through a diverse collection of contemporary fine art printmaking and photography.

Framed work ‘Kwaidan – Encounters with Lafcadio Hearn’ is on the wall in the Kura Monzen Gallery in Kyoto, Japan alongside some contemporary ceramic arts in the gallery. On the second floor, there is another exhibition with mainly antique items related to ‘Kwaidan’ such as skulls, ghost, demons and more scary pieces.
The unframed works will be there to view going forward.
