A set of five shell shaped dishes from the kilns of Kyushu covered in iron glaze enclosed in an old wooden box titled Yuteki Tenmoku Mukozuke. Attesting to their late 19th century age, there are several lacquer repairs to the rims, one has been broken and reassembled using black lacquer. They are 8.5 x 8 x 2 cm (roughly 3-1/4 inches diameter). Perfect for soy sauce with sushi or sashimi, or yakumi for other Japanese foods.
