A masterpiece in blue and white decorated with a cluster of grapes on the vine by one of the great porcelain families of Kyoto, Kondo Hiroshi, enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Budo-e Kabin. It is 28.5 cm (11 inches) diameter, 31.5 cm (12-1/2 inches) tall and in excellent condition.
Kondo Hiroshi (1936-2012) was born the second son of (to be) Living National Treasure Kondo Yuzo. He exhibited with the Nihon Dento Kogeiten National Traditional Crafts Exhibition. He is Probably the person who most took his father’s life’s-work, adapting it and making it his own. He was awarded the Tomimoto Kenkichi Prize in 1973, and received the Kyoto Shinbun Award of Cultural Merit in 1999.
