A ceramic dish in the shape and texture of a wooden tray dating from the Edo period enclosed in an age blackened wooden box titled Yakimono Rokusun Kaku-zara. It is roughly 17.5 cm (7 inches) square, 4 cm (1-1/2 inches) tall. There are a few very old lacquer repairs to chips around the edge, which only serve to enhance the antique feeling.
