A three peaked vessel constructed of thousands of tiny porcelain fragments by Baba Yasutaka. After drawing a blueprint of his intended object, he first cuts out stencils that help him create the structural foundations for his sculptures. Then, after cutting out thousands of little rectangular porcelain blocks of varying sizes, Baba attaches each piece, one by one, upon his damp clay surfaces in a random fashion. It is 37 x 35 x 41 cm (15 x 14 x 16 inches) and is in excellent condition, directly from the artist.

Due to size the cost of shipping will be accrued separately.

Baba Yasutaka was born in Nagasaki Prefecture in 1991. He finished at the Tajimi Ceramics Research Facility in 2017. His architectural works have been presented In the United States, TEFAF Maastricht, Germany, and in Art Miami and London as well as numerous domestic exhibitions. Capturing both light and shadows upon his facades, Baba’s aesthetic is intriguing not only for its sculptural beauty, but for his immaculate sense of detail and craftsmanship, evidenced by the scrupulous intensity of the tiny porcelain blocks that comprise his works, attached one by one by free-hand in pursuit of the elemental essence of porcelain’s natural beauty.
