A small Chawan with thick walls likely from Hagi or Shimane covered in transparent glaze ladled with earthy white drips resting on cut squared kodai foot wrapped in a fine modern silk pouch and enclosed in a fabulous mulberry wood box. The box itself is a work of art. 19th century, the bowl is 12 x 10.5 x 7 cm (4-3/4 x 4-1/4 x 3 inches) and is in excellent condition.
