A finely crafted incense burner in the shape of a cricket cage with a bound bamboo handle covered in flowering vines, the sides pierced with hexagonal lattice designs. It contains a brass insert with a silvered brass lid pierced and engraved with smoke clouds. It comes enclosed in a period wooden box titled Ko-Satsuma Mushi-kago Koro. Inside it is dated 1935 after a long inscription detailing its receipt as a gift. It is 10 cm (4 inches) diameter, 20 cm (8 inches) tall and in excellent condition.
