A pair of mandarin ducks, symbols of eternal partnership and marital bliss, created of fine white clay with overglaze enamels enclosed in a red lacquered wooden box. They are large and exquisitely crafted. The male is 29 x 13.5 x 17.5 cm (1-1/2 x 5-1/2 x 7 inches), the female 29 x 13.5 x 15 cm (1-1/2 x 5-1/2 x 6 inches) and both are in excellent condition, dating from the early to mid 20th century.
