A breathtaking box covered in genuine gold decorated with a pair o colorful pheasants along a stream under cherry blossoms. Inside the lid an ancient pine is visible through the bamboo lattice of a windpump blossoms in the fore. The bo itself is decorated, even in the ikada tray, with blossoming prunus, and contains a gold lined ink stone and Shakudo water dropper set into a silver insert. All is protected by a silk pillow, and it comes in a custom made wooden box. The lacquer work is 22.6 x 23.3 x 4.7 (9 x 9-1/2 x 2 inches) and is in excellent condition.
