An early 17th century set of three stacking boxes with lid covered in decorative fan designs following the style of the Momoyama period. Assembled the set is 21.5 x 24 x 21 cm (8-1/2 x 9-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches). The black lacquer has mellowed to a rich brown color, a product of great age. There are very minor issues, typical of age and use, however is overall in surprisingly good condition.
