A breathtaking four-tiered stacking box emblazoned with overlapping Imperial Chrysanthemum on the lid, each tier uniquely decorated in gold and mother of pearl enclosed in an old lacquered wooden box titled Jidai Maki-ga Ga-gae Jubako with a label reading Yon-ju Monyo-gae Makiga. The inside of each box is completely covered in clouds of gold dust. The outside shows various natural patterns, with varied techniques in gold and mother of pearl. Enclosed with it are receipts from the Kanazawa Bijutsu Kurabu dating it as an old household treasure in the early 20th century. It is 22.5 x 20.5 x 25.3 cm (9 x 8 x 10 inches) and is in excellent condition.
