A radical open sake serving vessel by Ichikawa Toru in outlandish color enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Shuhari.  It is 25 cm (10 inches) diameter, 9 cm (3-1/2 inches) tall and in excellent condition.

Shuhari is one of the relationships between master and student in Japanese arts and arts such as tea ceremony and martial arts, and it shows the process of training. It is an idea that is the basis of the creative process by which the culture of performing arts has developed and evolved in Japan, and this process is expressed in three stages: Shu ``Protecting the Tradition'', Ha ``Mastering the School'', and Ri ``Moving Forward''.

Ichikawa Toru was born in Tokyo in 1973. In 2015 he established his current studio in Bizen after 4 years of apprenticeship under another Bizen Outsider, Kakurezaki Ryuichi. He has since developed quite a following, with his shows selling out often within hours.
