A globular ceramic vase covered in Rimpa style designs by Taka Akira enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kutani Kabin.It is 20 cm (8 inches) diameter, roughly the same height and in excellent condition.
Taka Akira has been selected for show and awarded at the Ishikawa Prefectural Modern Art Exhibition, Asahi Ceramic Exhibition, Chunichi International Ceramics Exhibition, Kutani Traditional Crafts Exhibition, Issui Kai Ten and Nihon Dento Kogeiten National Traditional Crafts Exhibition among many others. Work is held in the permanent collection if the Freer Sackler Museum as well as the Tashkent Museum. He received the Imperial Order of Cultural Merit (Zuihosho) from the Emperor in 2005.
