A superb tapering tall squared planter covered in running yellow glaze dating from the early 20th century enclosed in a custom wooden box titled Kitai-yu Shiho Kabin. The clay is dark and iron rich. It has a custom made brass liner allowing it to double as a vase. Stamped by the maker on the base, it is 12 x 12 x 45.5 cm (5 x 5 x 18 inches) and is in excellent condition.
