Fern fronds in various shades of gold cover the black lacquered surface of this delicate tray dating from the later 19th century.The bottom is completely covered in fine nashiji, powdered gold covered in lacquer and polished dwon to reveal the glimmering flakes.The tray is 24 x 33 x 3 cm (9-1/2 x 13 x 1 inches) and is in excellent condition.
