A large bowl hollowed out from Kiri-wood darkened with age and covered on top with black lacquer inlayed with mother of pearl designs and glistening gold maki-e waterfronds with waves about the rim. It is 35 x 25.5 x 10 cm (14 x 10 x 4 inches) and is in overall fine condition, enclosed in a dilapidated kiri-wood box black with age.
