Orange flags blaze in the strong winds propelling this Dutch ship to distant shores, the promise of trade and wealth opposite three red-haired dutchman on this antique tall sake bottle enclosed in an older wooden box titled Hansen Jinbutsu-no-zu Tokkuri. 18th to 19th century, it is reminiscent of Inuyama ware inland from the Seto pottery region in central Japan. The bottle is 10.5 cm (4 inches) diameter, 29 cm (11-1/2 inches) tall and in excellent condition, but for one small chip in the glaze of the rim.
