Pigment on silk in a silk border with red lscquere wooden rollers. The scroll is 46 x 142 cm (18 x 56 inches) ad comes enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Boke Hakkacho (Crested Myna with Japanese Quince).
Hashimoto Eiho (1886-1944) was born in Tokyo and attended the Tokyo University of Art, studying under Tearasaki Kogyo and Shimomura Kanzan.He was selected for exhibition at the first Bunten in 1908, receiving a prize, and also exhibited with the Inten from Taisho 3 (1914).
