A stunning set of four lacquered Haisen bowls with trays decorated outside with cherry blossoms and maple leaves in shades of gold on mirror black, the interiors covered in gold flake by Mikami Jisaburo, each wrapped in their original blue cloth pouch and enclosed in the original signed and compartmentalized wooden box dating from the Meiji to Taisho periods (late 19th to early 20th century). Each bowl is 15 cm (6 inches) diameter, 8.5 cm (3-1/2 inches) tall and all are in overall excellent condition. Mikami Jisaburo was the 4th generation head of the Mikami Lacquer family born in 1878.
