A large platter in contrasting textures covered in Oribe glaze by Higashi Naohito enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Oribe-sara Haru (Oribe Dish, Spring). It is 55.5 x 28.5 x 5.5cm (22 x 11 x 2 inches) and is in excellent condition.
Graduated from Meijo University in 1927 before completing training at the Aichi Prefectural Ceramics Technical College in 1975. He established his pottery in Toyota City, and worked as an instructor at his Alma Mater from 1979-1988 before relocating to Ena City. He has exhibited with the National Traditional Crafts Exhibition (Nihon Denot Kogei Ten), National Ceramics Exhibition (Nihon Togeiten), Chunichi International Ceramics Exhibition (Kokusai Togeiten) and Tokai Traditional Crafts Exhibition among many others.
