A very large basket signed on the base of dark bamboo with looping root-wood handle in the Japanese random-weave pattern dating rom the early 20th century. It is supported on 3 root-wood legs woven into sides of the bamboo sleeve. The basket is 23.5 cm (9 inches) diameter, 78 cm (32 inches) tall and in overall fine condition with a few broken narrow bamboo splints (takehigo) around the base typical of age and use.
