A rotund quail calls out, beak open, forming the spout for this quaint tea pot from the early twentieth century kilns of Banko-ware in Mie prefecture. It is 17 x 13 x 12 cm (7 x 4-3/4 x 5 inches) and in excellent condition, enclosed in a modern wooden storage box.
