A beautiful tray of mottled red and black polished lacquer with patches of gold showing through dated on the bottom of the tray 2nd day of the first month of Showa 14 (1939).The box is 15 x 12 x 6cm (6 x 5 x 2-1/2 inches), the tray is 25 x 22 x 3.5 cm (10 x 9 x 1 inches) and both are in overall fine condition.
