A bold dragon prances in a single stroke of black on the pale paper of this large format scroll dating from the later 19th to early 20th century stamped by the artist in the lower right corner. Ink on paper in a silk border with flowering vines featuring pale silk piping with large wooden rollers. The scroll is 73 x 205.5 cm (28-1/2 x 81 inches). It has been completely remounted in a style reflecting the Mincho mountings popular for scholarly art in the 19th century.
