A set of five small Black Raku Cups with vertical sides in what remains, each piece with hair-follicle fine red lacquer repairs over glaze cracks, hardly noticeable at a glance, but adding a real sense of grace and elegance to the five ceramic works. They are roughly 5.3 cm (just over 2 inches) diameter, 5.8 cm (2-1/4 inches) tall and in excellent condition. Dating from the later Edo period, late 18th to early 19th century.
