A slightly slumped Chinese Tenmoku-yu Chawan tea bowl dating from the 13th to 15th century imported to Japan at a time when such exotic items commanded fortunes. Song period, it is 12.5 cm (5 inches) diameter, 7 cm (3 inches) tall and in excellent condition.
