A set of six bowls by Fuyushiba Fumihiro enclosed in the original compartmentalized and signed wooden box titled Yubyosai Shunto Chawan. Fumihiro’s work centers on the depiction of natural plant forms using glaze and overglaze techniques. He is known for creating ink-painting-like expressions with glaze, followed by overglaze coloring after firing to add depth to botanical imagery. His practice also incorporates traditional decorative methods such as sometsuke (underglaze blue), ibushi (smoke firing), and akae (red overglaze), often blending these with classical patterns. Here the artist details a different spring or winter flower on each bowl. For Winter: daffodils, camellias, and plum blossoms, for Spring: cherry blossoms, katakuri (violets), and kerria blossoms are depicted. Each bowl is 12-12.5 cm (roughly 5 inches) diameter, 8 cm (3-1/4 inches) tall and all are in excellent condition.
