An exquisite Korin-style Maki-e lacquer box inlayed with lead and mother of pearl and covered entirely with powdered gold featuring a pewter rim enclosed in a period collectors box from Gesshoji Temple in Izumo. It is 14.5 cm (just under 6 inches) diameter, 8 cm (3 inches) tall and in overall excellent condition dating from the early 20th century.
