A wonderful incense storage container in the form of a traditional court cap (kanmuri) covered outside in black lacquer over raised patterns, the inside coated in togidashi gold powder enclosed in the original wooden storage box dating from the Edo period It is 20 x 10 x 16 cm (8 x 4 x 6-1/4 inches) and is in excellent condition.
