A playful work with looping handles decorated with intricate patterns by Suzuki Yusaku enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Dochi ga Dochi (Which is Which?). Two elongated faces with bulging eyes look warily in both directions. The tangled pattern layed over black is serpentine, ominous as well as striking in its directness. It is 21 x 10.5 x 11.5 cm (8-1/4 x 4-1/4 x 4-1/2 inches) and is in excellent condition, directly from the artist created this year.
Suzuki Yusaku was born in Aichi prefecture in central Japan in 1991 and graduated the Nagoya Zokei University Ceramics Course in 2014. He started drawing in the latter half of his sophomore year in college and this practice became the foundation of his current artistic style as well as a key element of his work’s appeal. He holds both group and solo exhibitions across Japan.
