An extreme photograph of a Macaw by Horitani Shoichi mounted as a panel signed and numbered on back. According to Shoichi “I am captivated by the fascinating surfaces of animal bodies. They resemble beautiful landscapes, continuously altering with environmental conditions. The unique and irregular patterns on their bodies, the muscular contours, the skeleton, the scars, and the insects that gather around them, all reveal not just beauty but the tremendous life force of the natural world.” The panel was made and photo mounted by the traditional Kyoto Hyogushi Inoue Toshihiko (Recently the subject of a documentary on NHK International).
