Yuri was born in Kyoto, Japan, and graduated with honors from the Osaka Fashion Institute, Department of Interior Design. After traveling extensively through Africa, Europe, India, Asia, and South America, she settled in the United States to further develop her artistic practice, with a particular focus on lighting design.
Now based in Seattle, Yuri works with organic materials to create both small- and large-scale sculptural works known as Interwoven Lights. Her site-specific installations explore the dynamic interplay between light and shadow, examining how illumination, material, and space interact to create immersive and atmospheric environments.
