In 2016, she received multiple major awards, including a prize at the 3rd Kōgei in Kanazawa Competition, the Grand Prize at Ceramic Art in the Present Tense held at the Hagi Uragami Museum, and the Governor’s Prize at the 50th Women’s Ceramic Artists Association Exhibition. The following year, she was selected for the 11th International Ceramics Competition Mino.
After graduating, Yamaguchi initially took a position as a schoolteacher, but her commitment to making work led her back to ceramics. She enrolled at the Tajimi City Ceramics Research Facility, completing her studies there in 2020. Since then, her career has continued to gain momentum, with her work exhibited internationally. Most notably, her work has been shown at the Art Institute of Chicago and was featured on the cover of the exhibition catalogue Radical Clay, underscoring her growing presence on the global ceramic stage.
