Lu Xueyun was born in Chongqing, China in 1987 and graduated from Sichuan International Studies University in 2010. After initially taking a position in the overseas division of a Chinese company, she grew dissatisfied with corporate life and chose to pursue a more personal creative path. In 2019, she graduated from the Ceramics Course at the Traditional Arts Super College of Kyoto, before continuing her studies for two years at the Ishoken Tajimi City Pottery Design and Technical Center.
During her time in Tajimi, she participated in several juried and group exhibitions, steadily refining a practice grounded in close material study and disciplined making. This presentation marks the first time her works have been shown to an international audience, introducing an emerging voice shaped by both Chinese and Japanese ceramic traditions.
