Hashimoto Tomonari was born to a sculptor and became familiar with the processes of making from an early age. He completed a master’s degree at Kanazawa College of Art in March 2017, after which he relocated to Shigaraki to pursue his ceramic practice.

While personally reserved, Hashimoto’s work reveals a strong and confident artistic voice. His ceramics are marked by a sculptural sensibility and a rigorous engagement with form, material, and scale. In 2019, he was named a finalist for the LOEWE Craft Prize, bringing international attention to his work.

His works are held in major public collections, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). A large-scale sculptural work has also been permanently installed in his home prefecture of Wakayama, further affirming his growing presence in contemporary ceramic art.

He also participated in the exhibition "IBUKI" Digital Catalog
