The unusual character used for Yo in the title refers to a glistening, iridescent color transformation that occurs during the firing of ceramic pottery. You will most commonly see this term used in the context of "Yōhen Tenmoku", which are rare, legendary tea bowls with dark glazes that feature beautiful, galaxy-like shimmering spots. The bowl is 13 x 14 x 9 cm (5-1/4 x 5-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches) and is in perfect condition.

Hayashi Kyosuke was born in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture in 1962.
