An elegant white vessel with zigzag pattern cut away from the surface by Tsutsui Hiroaki enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Seihakuji Shinogi Tsubo. It is 30.5 cm (12 inches) diameter and in perfect condition.
Tsutsui Hiroaki was born in Mountainous Nagano Prefecture in Central Japan in 1951. Following university he moved to Komatsu city outside Kanazawa where he spent four years studying the techniques of Kutani Porcelain ware before moving to Kyoto where he did another 4 years mastering the ceramic technique of the ancient capital. In 1978 he was accepted into the Nihon Dento Kogei Ten National Traditional Crafts Exhibition, and the following year the Nihon Togeiten National Ceramics Exhibition. A big few first steps for a young artist. I 1980 he established his kiln in Nagano. He has since been exhibited at some of Japans top Galleries including Takashimaya and the prestigious Kuroda Toen. Work is held in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Nagano Prefectural Museum, The Collection of Ise Shine, Ibaraki Ceramic Art Museum and Shizuoka Ceramic Art Museum among others
