A dramatic vessel by rent from the earth by Onishi Masafumi enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled simply Tamba Kaki.It is 38.5 x 32.5 x 14 cm (15 x 13 x 5-1/2 inches) and is in excellent condition.
Masafumi Onishi, born in 1980 in Sasayama City, is the eldest son of the fourth generation of the Tambo Kiln family. In 2000, he graduated from Osaka University of Arts Junior College, specializing in crafts within the Department of Design and Fine Arts. He apprenticed under Hiroshige Kato of Kasusen Tohen in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture. In 2004, Onishi returned to Tachikui to begin his pottery career. The following year, he held his debut solo exhibition at a department store in Kakogawa. Since then, he has showcased his work extensively through numerous solo and group exhibitions.
