Skulls lie forgotten among the wavering dried grasses under a poem of running script by Shishimon XIX Ichimian, one in the lineage of Kagami Shiko, on this 19th century image reminding us of the transient nature of our brief existence. Ink on paper in cloth border, completely restored in a manner reflecting the original with black lacquered rollers. The scroll is 45 x 192.5 cm (17-3/4 x 75-3/4 inches) and is in excellent condition.
