{"product_id":"japanese-bronze-lantern-ー会田-富康-青銅千鳥文字燈籠","title":"Japanese Bronze Lantern ー会田 富康 \"青銅千鳥文字燈籠\"","description":"\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eSmall soaring shapes pierce the roof and birds are cast flying across the latticework of this bronze lantern by important 20th century artist Aida Tomiyasu enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Seido Chidori Mon Tsuri Toro.  It is signed in a cartouche on the lower outside Tomiyasu and comes with the original artist made chain for hanging.  The lantern is lined with paper and stands 29 cm (11-1\/2 inches) tall, 27.5 cm (10-1\/2 inches) diameter and in excellent condition.  A light was inserted for effect on one photograph; no light is included.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eAida Tomiyasu (Ihara Meijiro 1901-1987) was born in Tateyama, Chiba Prefecture and learned his trade under Yamamoto Azumi. In his early years he exhibited with the Nihon Bijutsu Kyokai and Shokosho Kogeiten exhibitions.  In 1942 he joined the Kosaikai art research society, eventually serving as its chairman.
