A stunning large white porcelain jar engraved with designs by Shinoda Noriaki enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Hakuji Kabin. It is 22 x 24.5 cm (8 11/16 × 9 5/8 inches) and in perfect condition.
Shinoda Noriaki was born in Matsumoto City in Nagano in 1956, and graduated the prestigious Meiji University in 1979, however had already decided at that point on the life bent over the potters wheel. He therefore enrolled in the progressive Ishoken research facility in Tajimi city. Following this he studied under his father Shinoda Giichi and grandfather Living National Treasure Kondo Yuzo. His work has garnered prizes at the Asahi Togeiten Ceramic Exhibition, Dento Kogei Shinsaku Ten New Traditional Crafts Exhibition, and Nagano Prefecture Kogeikai Exhibition among others.
