A fabulous Nunome ceramic box decorated with intricate patterns exhibited at the 33rd National Shinsaku Togeiten in 2005 by Yamaji Kazuo enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Senshi tsunagi gata mon Tobako.  It is 19.5 x 9 x 8 cm (8 x 4 x 3 inches) and in perfect condition.

Yamaji Kazuo was born in Tokyo in 1949 and went to Canada in in 1973 to start his life as a potter.  Returning to Japan, he studied potting technique in Hiroshima from 1981-1985.  In 1988 he would debut at the Nihon Shinsaku Togeiten National New Crafts Exhibition, the Asahi Modern Craft Exhibition as well as the 35th Nihon Dento Kogeiten National Traditional Crafts Exhibition. The following year would see him debut at the Nihon Togetien National Ceramic Exhibition. His work would subsequently garner awards at all these exhibitions, as well as being exhibited overseas in France, Korea and other International destinations.  Work is held in the Hyogo Prefectural Ceramic Art Museum, Ibaraki Ceramic Art Museum among others.
