A huge pair of Kishi school images of Koi-nobori (carp ascending a waterfall) enclosed in a custom made period wooden box titled Koi Taki nobori Nifuku Tsui Ganro Ga Takahashi-kei (Carp ascending waterfall pair of scrolls, Painting by Ganro, Takahashi collection) dated Kae 3 (1851). Ink and pigment on paper fully remounted in blue silk reflecting accents in the waterfall, and retaining the original turned wood rollers. They are 61 x 201 cm each (24 x 79 inches) and in excellent overall condition.
