A long-legged tree frog climbs the side of this bronze vase by artist Yoshino Takeharu enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Jundo Kabin. It is 30 cm (12 inches) diameter, 19 cm (just less than 8 inches) tall and in excellent condition.
Yoshino Takeharu was born in Toyama and graduated te Toyama Prefectural School of Arts and Crafts in 1938, after which he apprenticed under his father.He was granted the Order of merit from Takaoka city in 1979, and designated a bearer of important Cultural Skills in 1982, being declared a Bearer of Intangible cultural properties (prefectural version of Living National Treasure) in 2000.
