The two halves are divided by a solid silver rim. Inside the lid is a signature in gold which appears to read Shichikurin, housed within are the original gourd shaped Suzuri ink stone lacquered black with a gold rim, and a silver suiteki water dropper inset into a lacquered insert decorated with bamboo grass in gold and silver. The work is 24 cm (9-1\/2 inches) diameter and is in fine condition. It comes enclosed in the original wooden storage box bearing a red seal.
