A beautifully mottled red bronze vase in Art-Deco form by Yamamoto Kozan enclosed in the origan signed wooden box titled Karakane Hoko Kabin. It is 12.5 cm (5 inches) square, 30 cm (12 inches) tall and weighs 2.2 kg (roughly 4.5 pounds) and is in excellent condition. The box bears the Wako Ginza mark on the bottom from the preeminent Gallery in Tokyo. Yamamoto Kozan was a bronze artist active in the first half of the 20th century, a student of Okazaki Sessei and younger brother of Yamamoto Junmin.
