Seunghee LEE 李承煕

Seunghee Lee (b. 1958) was born in South Korea and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Craft from Cheongju University in 1986. His early work includes the Tao series, exploring philosophical inquiries through a refined, two-dimensional approach.

The COVID-19 pandemic marked a turning point in Lee’s practice, leading to a spontaneous, drawing-like method of working with clay. This evolution expanded into a tri-regional practice, with production sites in Cheongju (Korea), Shigaraki (Japan), and Jingdezhen (China). Immersed in the distinct qualities of local clays and ceramic traditions, Lee discovered shared nuances in daily life across cultures, which became a central theme in his long-term explorations. His work continues to evolve organically, deepening in both form and meaning.

He also participated in the exhibition "BLACK & WHITE" Digital Catalog
