Sakiyama Takayuki 崎山 隆之

Sakiyama Takayuki (b. 1958) graduated from Osaka Art University in 1981. He exhibited for the first time at the Nitten National Exhibition in 1984 and established his kiln in Shizuoka in 1987. Sakiyama was first awarded at the National Ceramics Exhibition (Nihon Togeiten) in 1991 and has also been recognized at the Nihon Gendai Kogeiten (Modern Crafts Exhibition). In 2005, he received the Grand Prize at the Nihon Togeiten.

His works are held in major collections worldwide, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Brooklyn Museum; Minneapolis Institute of Art; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Philadelphia Museum of Art; New Orleans Museum of Art; LACMA; Musée National de Céramique, Sèvres, France; National Museum of Scotland; Museum of Ceramic Art, Hyogo; and the Sano Museum, among many others.
